Storage Clean Expert Privacy Policy
Welcome to Storage Clean Expert (the "App"). We respect your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App may access or generate, why certain permissions may be requested, how information is stored, and how you can manage your choices.
Please read this Privacy Policy before using the App. By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
1. Our Privacy Principles
Storage Clean Expert is a local Android utility for device storage review and device status information. Our privacy principles are:
- The App does not require account registration or login.
- The App does not upload your personal files, scan results, device review data, or settings to servers operated by us.
- Runtime permissions are requested only when you choose to use a feature that needs them.
2. Information Processed by the App
To provide its features, the App may access or generate the following information on your device.
2.1 Device Status Information
For Health Score, Memory Manager, Battery Manager, Storage Analyzer, and Network Analyzer, the App may process:
- Total storage, used storage, available storage, and storage category information.
- RAM usage, available memory, and a list of recognizable background third-party apps.
- Battery level, battery health status, temperature, charging status, and charging type.
- Current network connection status, Wi-Fi information, IP information, download and upload test results, ping, and signal status.
This information is mainly obtained from Android system interfaces and is used only to show device status inside the App or to generate local results.
2.2 File and Media Information
When you use storage-related features or duplicate media review, the App may process the following information locally:
- File name, path, size, and modified time for cache files, temporary files, thumbnail cache files, residual installation packages, empty folders, and similar items shown for user review.
- Photo and video paths, sizes, dates, and local matching results used to identify duplicate or similar media.
- Large file information for downloads, audio, photos, videos, and other file categories.
The App does not upload your file content, photos, videos, or file lists to servers operated by us. File scanning, duplicate media matching, and file deletion are performed locally on your device.
2.3 Installed App and Permission Information
When you use Privacy Guard or related Health Score features, the App may use Android system interfaces to read, on your device:
- Names, package names, and icons of third-party apps installed by the user.
- Permissions granted to those third-party apps.
- Permission sensitivity grouping, such as high sensitivity, general sensitivity, and basic permissions.
This feature is limited to showing permission status and helping you open Android system settings if you choose to manage permissions there. The App does not make claims about app behavior beyond the permission information shown by the Android system.
2.4 Local Settings and Cached Results
The App may store lightweight data locally on your device, including:
- The most recent Health Score snapshot.
- Short-term cached results for junk file review, memory status, permission review, storage analysis, and duplicate media review.
- Language preference, guide display status, and permission guide session status.
These items are stored only on your device. If you uninstall the App, local App data is usually removed by the Android system.
3. Permissions and Feature Usage
The App requests permissions only when needed for a feature you choose to use. If you decline a permission, the related feature may not work or may show limited information. Permission names may vary by Android version, so please refer to the wording shown by the system dialog or system settings page.
| Feature Area | Permission or System Capability That May Be Used | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Junk file review | Storage access | To scan cache files, temporary files, thumbnail cache files, residual installation packages, empty folders, and similar items, and to delete selected files only after your confirmation. |
| Storage Analyzer | Storage access and app storage information | To show storage category information, review large files by category, and delete selected files only after your confirmation. |
| Duplicate Media | Photo and video access | To find duplicate or similar photos and videos, and to delete selected media only after your confirmation. |
| Network Analyzer | Network connection and Wi-Fi status | To show network information and run download, upload, and latency tests. |
| Privacy Guard | Installed app and permission information | To show permission sensitivity grouping for third-party apps and help you open Android system settings if you choose. |
| Memory Manager, Battery Manager, and battery suggestions | Device status information and system settings links | To show memory and battery status and open Android system settings when you choose to do so. |
The App does not request permissions in bulk for unrelated features. The App does not delete files silently or complete system setting actions on your behalf.
4. Storage and Protection of Information
Scan results, settings, and feature caches are stored mainly on your device, such as in memory cache or Android local preference storage.
The App does not create a cloud account for you and does not upload your removal history, scan results, file lists, media content, or permission review results to servers operated by us.
Please note that file deletion cannot always be undone. The App shows a confirmation prompt before file deletion, and deletion is performed only after you confirm the action.
5. Third-Party Services
As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, the App has not integrated third-party advertising SDKs, third-party analytics SDKs, or push notification SDKs. The App does not use your file content, scan results, or device review data for ad delivery, user profiling, or cross-app tracking.
Network Analyzer may use third-party network test services or test nodes to perform download and upload tests. This may involve necessary network requests to obtain current network test results. The results are used only for display in the current App page and are not used for historical tracking or user profiling.
When you tap rating, sharing, feedback, permission management, system settings, app details, or uninstall-related entries, the App may open Google Play, an email app, Android system settings, the system share panel, or other system components. Information processing after you leave the App is governed by the relevant third party or system service.
6. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure
We do not share, transfer, or publicly disclose your personal information except in the following cases:
- When you choose to share information or take an action, such as using the system share panel.
- When required by applicable law, regulation, legal process, or government request.
- When reasonably necessary to protect the lawful interests of users, the public, us, or third parties, to the extent permitted by law.
Because the App does not require an account and does not upload local scan results to servers operated by us, your removal data, scan results, and file information are normally not shared with third parties by us.
7. Your Choices and Controls
You can manage your information and permissions in the following ways:
- Grant or revoke App permissions in Android system settings.
- Choose whether to enter features that require permissions.
- Cancel file deletion before confirming the action.
- Uninstall the App to remove locally stored App data.
- Clear App data through Android system settings.
If you revoke a permission, features that depend on that permission may stop working. For example, revoking storage access may affect junk file review and storage analysis, while revoking photo and video access may affect duplicate media review.
8. Children's Privacy
The App is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a minor, please use the App with guidance from a parent or guardian.
9. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy due to feature changes, legal requirements, or compliance needs. The updated policy will show the effective date and may be displayed in the App or on a related page.
If the App's data processing practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide notice or request consent where required by applicable law.
